Key Achievements – 2012 -2024

• Endowment  – Increased the Greenwich Council’s Endowment from 1.5M in 2012 to 5.3M as of December 2021.  Current Endowment – 3.9M.  Solicited ONE MILLION DOLLAR gift for endowment in 2013.
• Bequests / Legacies – received two recent major bequests: $208,000 in 2024 and $100,000 in 2023 to support Capital & Operations.
• Capital Campaign – Developed a long term capital budget that resulted in the completion of major projects: Replacement of Camp Bridge ( $250,000 ); Program Amphitheatre ($100,000);   Renovations to the Malcolm Pray Building ($250,000);  Renovations made to Council Service Center ($35,000 ); Renovation of the Basketball Court / New Program – Picnic Area- Tibbetts Family Recreation Center ( $200,000 ); Renovation of pool – Tibbetts Family Foundation ($120,000).
• Membership – Increased Membership by 21% from 2014 – 2018.  2022 – .01% increase Traditional / 28%increase Exploring.
• Budget – Attained Operating surplus for all years 2012 -2023 with a recent surplus $230K in 2024.  New fundraising streams introduced to our Special Events contributed to the continued surplus: Sporting Clays Invitational in 2012 and the Adult Pinewood Derby Social in 2020 in conjunction with the Ferrari Dealership in Greenwich, CT.  The fundraising stream from the United Way was also revived recently through my initiative.
• Fiscal Management– Corrected a significant deficiency in the internal control over the financial reporting that was brought to the attention of those charged with governance before my term. From 2012 to the present, the SAS 116 annual reports from the external auditors showed no material deficiencies or weaknesses in the current system.
• Camp & Program Activities – Implemented the Council’s programs and hired a new Program Director that contributed to phenomenal growth from 2013 -2019 (pre-covid), and a safe and profitable camping program.
